Florals&Leather

Florals&Leather

Due to sever heat outside and polar like cold inside
(ALL my classes have the AC on full blast!)
I have to carefully plan at my outfits when I have class.
Hence my wearing a jacket when it's 85°.

I originally planned on wearing a flowy white tank top with this but it needed ironing and I was already late. Instead a went for this floral top and I like the way it works with the shorts.

The shorts have a sporty look to them, the side has a
retro basketball shorts feel. They're mesh like with a leather texture. An unexpected pair like that and I'm all in.
I spotted these in PacSun last year while on a day trip and I had to have them. There are just so many ways to style them.( I may to a post on that bc I really like them!

To keep warm I added this green jacket I've had for awhile. I got it on sale at Target.
It's light weight enough that I wasn't too hot outside and I think it really ties the outfit together nicely.
The bag is just the one I'm currently using bc it is big enough to hold my usual purse thins and school stuff. but i like how it compliments my shirt and jacket.
Finally, for shoes my trusty, go-to, beat up Converse. Plus I couldn't pass up a chance to wear them with my "retro leather basketball shorts".

Makeup Review

Makeup Review

When I started this blog I wanted to write both style and beauty post but I've really only done style ones. So here goes. My first beauty post!

First up, a product I have been eyeing for awhile. Covergirl's Bombshell Curvaceous by Lash Blast in very black(what a mouthful) The packaging alone makes me want to have this forever!

It's a two step process kind of mascara. This one clearly being number 1 and my favorite of the two. The brush is curved and it is really good at separating your lashes to avoid clumps. I sometimes just wear this one.  You apply it let it dry.

Then it's time for brush #2 which is really big. It makes it hard to really get in there and get all your lashes. I have gotten mascara on my eyelid a few times because of it. However it does do its job.
Over all I do like the mascara it makes my eyelashes look much longer and fuller! But getting it off at night has been such a pain. No matter what I use it refuses to come off and it's waterproof, I checked. I'm not sure yet if it's one I'd get again.

I also picked up this Master Conceal concealer from Maybelline in 10 Fair. I have been using Hard Candy's Glamoflauge concealer for a over a year but now that I've been seeing a dermatologist my face has cleared up (Hallelujah!). Plus I don't want such a thick concealer for the summer.

This one is much thinner, easier to blend, but it obviously doesn't give you as much coverage. I think it does an okay job but I'm not sold so I will keep looking for anther concealer. Let me know which ones you guys are using please!

Last but not least ELF's Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder. I am on the hunt for a decent prices contouring kit but until I find one I got this to hold me over.

This is the only product I will definitely buy again. The blush looks very pretty it has a peachy tone. The bronzer has a bit of shimmer to it but not too much I use it as a contour as well as bronzer.

For the price of $3 I'd say it is worth picking up if you get the chance.

I hope you guys liked this post. I want to do more like it so let me know what you think.

Leather | Velvet

Leather | Velvet

Ready or not the hot weather is here and its time to show a little bit of skin.

I was thrilled to finally be able to wear these velvet shorts that I scored ON SALE in like the beginning of winter. I've worn them before throughout the winter with stockings or long socks but having the velvet texture in the spring/summer is a nice twist. Honestly, that is why I bought them hahha. To keep with the "unexpected texture" I paired it with my leather top from the "Recent Buys" post. Since I was going to lunch with my mom and I didn't want to be showing too much skin I threw on an over-sized denim  jacket.

For me summer means I get to be more adventurous with my outfits. I'm not sure why but once it gets warm I feel so inspired and daring to try anything -style wise.
So make a vow to yourself this summer to try new looks you've had your eye on and let me know how it goes. Show me some of you're favorite looks!

Handkerchief

Handkerchief?

I have been on the fence about using a handkerchief/bandanna
(which ever you prefer I have gotten into some heated discussions over the correct term hahha) as an accessory. I have seen some people pull it off very well and others not so much. But I took a chance! and I really liked it. It will probably be a summer trademark for me when I don't want to be bother by necklaces.

Since I was being a bit bold with that I wanted to keep the rest of my outfit simple. Insert black shorts, purse, and my fave cut-out boots. To make the handkerchief stand out I went with a cream colored knit sweater that I distressed a bit.

I don't wear this shirt often because it fits weird but I thought the distressed knit would add a nice touch.
