Blue and Borrowed

Blue and Borrowed

A successful treasure hunt at the thrift store ended with
me walking out with this blue tweed mini skirt.

What I love about this skirt: the texture, the color,
the versatility, and the pockets - of course.

The texture is unexpected but not too busy.
The color, classic.

It can be dressed up with strappy heels, dressed down with a
pair of Converse - which I cannot wait to sport come summer - ,
or given an edgy look with a chunky boots.

The same could be said for the top.

A not so basic white tee is the perfect top for summer.

The ruffles do all the work for you.

There is no need to think; just grab your pop of
color shoes/bag and enjoy the summer sun.

Embrace the Cold

Embrace The Cold

or at least know how to deal with it

Winter can be brutal, but I refuse to lock myself inside.
I'd rather bundle up and spend a day off exploring Philly.
I did exactly that when a few inches of snow
got me out of classes for the day.

The key to surviving winter is to layer… and invest
in a thick faux fur coat that makes you
feel like you should be in Aspen or Moscow.

Then find a warm pair of faux fur boots that can
withstand the snow and slush. Also, they add a bit of
edge to your look. It's a win-win!

Cool & Casual

Cool & Casual

Over the holiday my family and I went to the Philadelphia Christmas Village, it was great if I had gotten this up sooner
I'd say go, it is now closed -- there's always next year!

I wanted to keep it casual but still have some fun with the look.

Denim blue jeans, for me, are central to a casual and effortless look; add a pair of ankle boots like the pointed ones I'm sporting to take it up a notch.

For the top, I went for a pajama-inspired top its casual in the right ways (loose fit, comfy, easy to work with) but still
looks put together. Throw on a long trench style jacket to tie
the look together.
I love this jacket because it can be dressed down or up.
It keeps me warm without the bulkiness.

Star Spangled Dress

 Star Spangled Dress

For a night on the town you can't go wrong with a
LBD(little black dress) but spice it up with a fun print.

After Tommy Hilfiger's 2015 Spring show that was oh so Rock and Roll, star prints have been making appearances every where.
And for good reason. The print gives any look a fun and fresh take. Not to mention you can't help but feel like a rockstar while sporting a star spangled look.
Something like this would make the perfect go-to holiday party dress. Asos.com and BooHoo.com have a few options as well as Ralph Lauren.

How to Handle the Summer Heat in Fall

How to Handle the Summer Heat
 in Fall

After a teaser week of crisp weather filled with an eagerness to celebrate everything Fall; sweaters, booties, long cardis, leather pants, and if that's your thing PSLattes.
We have been hit with hot summer like days.

So how do we embrace fall but avoid melting...

Flowy shorts and sweaters make for a great transtion outfit. Adding a pair of oxfords or booties with interestiong detail or pop of color will bring the look togehter and add a cool factor to a simple outfit.

The goal is to stay cool in the heat and look effortless.

A Taste of Fall

A Taste of Fall

Fall's official kickoff is the moment you can reach into your closet for that transition
piece that turns any look into a Fall one.

For me that piece is this olive green duster coat. It transformed this simple all black look into a put together Fall ensemble.
Olive green is a great neutral
 in terms of layering.
It stands our in the subtlest of ways.
